ESA rockets
I've made parts to modify or improve the Heller kits of the various Ariane launchers:
- Ariane 5 (Heller 1/125 kit): the kit contains the Ariane 5 G version. My notes on the kit. Details on the Ariane 5 versions.
- in prototype stage: Ariane 5 ECA - new second stage
Instructions for converting the kit to an ECA. - in prototype stage: Ariane 5 ME - new second stage.
This also includes an extra section for the payload fairing, to increase its length from 18 m to 20 m.
- in prototype stage: Ariane 5 ECA - new second stage
- Ariane 4 (Heller 1/125 kit)

The Ariane 4 was available in a number of configurations.
The kit allows you to build the 40, 42L and 44L configurations (0, 2 or 4 liquid boosters). With the parts below, you can build the 42P, 44P and 44LP configurations.
There were also 3 options for the third stage: H10, H10+ and H10-3.
- Aft skirts for the PAL liquid boosters to replace the incorrect items in the kit
- H10-3 third stage to replace the very basic item in the kit
- 2 PAP solid boosters (type PAP 9.5) for Ariane 4
For this part you also need: Attachment fittings for 2 boosters
You can convert the Heller kit to the earlier Ariane 1, 2, 3. The Ariane 3 introduced solid boosters, these were shorter than those used in the Ariane 4. The third stage and fairing were also different.
- 2 PAP solid boosters (type PAP 7.35) for Ariane 3
For this part you also need: Attachment fittings for 2 boosters - H10 third stage for Ariane 3
- Fairing for Ariane 1
- Fairing for Ariane 2-3
- Ariane 4 (Heller 1/288 kit)
- aft skirts for PAL boosters and H10-3 third stage to replace the basic items in the kit
This list shows you what parts you need for each version of the rocket. The links go to the Shapeways website, where you can order the parts.
This page contains a list of the rocket configuration (which boosters, which third stage) for each Ariane 1-4 launch.
This is how the PAP is attached to the first stage:
